Santo da Serra Golf course looks over the bay of Machico, where the Portuguese navigators first landed on Madeira Island.
Its original course, built in 1937, was redesigned in 1991 by the famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. who created a completely new and spectacular 27 hole golf course in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes.

Set within the magnificent Palheiro Estate and lying adjacent to the five-star hotel - Casa Velha do Palheiro - a Relais & Châteaux property - the 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course meanders through a pristine environment of maritime pine and botanical woodland embroidered with lush, sub-tropical vegetation.

Porto Santo Golf
The Porto Santo golf course crosses the island from the dunes to the cliffs, thus offering a challenging game.
Designed by Severiano Ballesteros, it ranks 14th on the list of Best Golf Courses in Portugal. The plan was carried out in such a way that the field mixes naturally with the landscape and great care was taken to minimize the impact on the environment.
